يتمّ تطبيق أنظمة شركة جاينت لمعالجة النفايات الطبيّة لتطهير الأدوات الحادّة والحُقَن والنفايات المُعديَة مثل النفايات الملَوّثة بالدم وسوائل الجسم الأخرى (مثل عيّنات التشخيص المُتخَلص منها) ومزارع البكتيريا والعوامل المُعديَة الناتجة من العمل المخبري (مثل النفايات الناتجة عن تشريح الجثث و الحيوانات المصابة بالمختبرات)، أو النفايات من المرضى في العنابر من الأقسام المعزولة والأدوات (مثل العيّنات والضِمادات والأجهزة الطبيّة التي يتمّ التخلص منها).

يُعتبر جهاز التعقيم (التعقيم بالبخار) الحل الأكثر فعّالية على نطاق واسع من حيث التكلفة والصداقة للبيئة لمعالجة النفايات الطبيّة التي قد تُحدث التلوّث. وعلى عكس الحرق، فإنّ التلوّث الناجم عن الاحراق من الصعب السيطرة عليه بطريقة فعّالة من حيث التكلفة. تحتوي الإنبعاثات الناجمة على الديوكسين والفوران ومواد ضارّة أخرى.
جهاز التعقيم البخاري من شركة جاينت به نظام تقطيع ليس فقط صديق للبشريّة والبيئة وتصميم متين عالي التحمّل بل أيضاً يضمن عمر طويل للنظام مع انخفاض تكاليف الصيانة.
سيتمّ تقطيع النفايات الطبيّة إلى قطع صغيرة قبل أو بعد التعقيم (عند درجة حرارة 121-138 درجة مئوية / 250-280 درجة فهرنهايت)، رواسب المخلّفات النهائيّة يمكننا التخلّص منها مثل النفايات العاديّة التابعة للبلديّات.
